Abraham Grand Lodge

In 1952, International Free and Accepted Modern Masons and the Order of Eastern Star were successful in establishing a Masonic lodge and Eastern Star Chapter in the great city of Philadelphia. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Joppa Lodge No. 1 was the father lodge, and Tabitha Chapter No. 4 was the mother chapter for our state. For several years, Pennsylvania was governed by the Joint Council. On September 14, 1957, the craft of various lodges held an assembly in the city of Philadelphia and organized a Grand Lodge and a Grand Chapter of International Free and Accepted Modern Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star. The first Grand Lodge and Grand Chapters were set up under the leadership of Brothers Lionel McMorris and Mineva Thompson. Because of the prosperous results obtained by Brothers McMorris and Thompson in their respective offices, more lodges and chapters were added to the state. In addition to the adult departments, the city of brotherly love is credited with an active youth department. The Reverend Hugo B. Ings was the first state youth director. The Abraham Grand Lodge Chapters were unveiled on April 6, 1962, under the Reverend Hugo B. Ings, Grandmaster of Pennsylvania, and the Princess Ghana Chapter Charter was unveiled in May 1965. Since that time, there have been numerous Grandmasters of the Abrahamic Grand Lodge in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our current Grandmaster of Abraham Grand Lodge is Lama Kroma, 32, elected in September 2021.
